T1 Adoption of artificial intelligence ChatGPT in higher education: university professors´ perspective in Paraguay

AB El objetivo del trabajo es conocer la percepción de los docentes universitarios deparaguay con respecto al uso del ChatGpt. Se basó en un enfoque cuantitativo de corte transversaly descriptivo. Se encuestó a 68 participantes mediante un cuestionario compuesto por 20 preguntasenviada vía WhatsApp por conveniencia en 2023. los resultados destacan que p4 ¿en qué medidacree que el uso de ChatGpt puede ahorrar tiempo en la búsqueda de información y en lapreparación de materiales de enseñanza? y p1 en general, ¿cómo calificaría la utilidad de ChatGptcomo herramienta de enseñanza? tiene las medias más altas ( xw=3,94 y xw=3,87 respectivamente), yque p7 ¿en qué medida cree que ChatGpt puede complementar o reemplazar la enseñanzatradicional en el aula? y p9 ¿en qué medida cree que ChatGpt puede ayudar a los estudiantes adesarrollar habilidades de investigación y pensamiento crítico? las más bajas (xw=2,75 y xw=3,21respectivamente). Se concluye que la utilidad del ChatGpt tiene un peso importante dentro delsistema educativo. Sin embargo, solo puede ser considerado como herramienta complementaria enel proceso de enseñanza, y no puede reemplazar la enseñanza tradicional en el aula
AB The aim of this work is to know the perception of paraguayan university professorsregarding the use of ChatGpt. it was based on a quantitative, cross-sectional, and descriptiveapproach. 68 participants were surveyed through a questionnaire made up of 20 questions, sent viaWhatsApp by convenience in 2023. the results highlight that Q4 to what extent do you think thatthe use of ChatGpt can save time in the search for information and in the preparation of trainingmaterials? teaching? and Q1 overall, how would you rate the usefulness of ChatGpt as a teachingtool? has the highest means (xw=3.94 and xw=3.87 respectively), and that Q7 to what extent do youthink ChatGpt can complement or replace traditional classroom teaching? and Q9 to what extentdo you think ChatGpt can help students develop research and critical thinking skills? the lowest(xw=2.75 and xw=3.21 respectively). it is concluded that the usefulness of ChatGpt has an importantweight within the educational system. However, it can only be considered as a complementary toolin the teaching process and cannot replace traditional classroom teaching
