T1 The contribution of the circular economy to the SDGS versus the limitations of the linear system

AB Los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible(ODS) ponen de manifiesto que el sistema actual de producción y consumo, consideradolineal, tiene deficiencias desde una perspectiva medioambiental, social y económica queamenazan su sostenibilidad a largo plazo. Elpresente trabajo realiza un análisis comparativoentre el modelo lineal, las “erres” (reciclar, reusar, etc.) y la Economía Circular (EC), a lo largode las etapas del proceso productivo, con elobjetivo de identificar las aportaciones de estasestrategias productivas a la sostenibilidad. Lasconclusiones muestran las limitaciones del proceso de producción y consumo lineal, y las carencias de las estrategias parciales. Asimismo,muestra que la EC no es una mera agregaciónde técnicas sostenibles; es un planteamiento integrador que repiensa el entramado industrialy productivo para conseguir un modelo económico sostenible alineado con la Agenda 2030
AB The Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) show that the current system of production and consumption, considered as linear, has weaknesses from an environmental,social and economic perspective that threatenits long-term sustainability. This paper conductsa comparative analysis between the linear model, “The R’s” (recycle, reuse, etc) and CircularEconomy (CE), along the stages of the productive process, with the aim of identifying thecontributions of these productive strategies tosustainability. The conclusions show the limitations of the linear production and consumptionprocess, and the shortcomings of the partialstrategies. Likewise, it shows that the CE is nota recompilation of different sustainable techniques but a global proposal that redefine theindustrial and productive structure held by thelineal model to achieve an economic sustainable strategy aligned with the 2030 Agenda
