T1 El desplazamiento de los espacios cívicos : la mediación divina entre Ptolis y Mantinea

AB Este artículo pretende asociar la leyendade la heroína Antínoe, que Pausaniasvincula con una refundación dela ciudad arcadia de Mantinea, con lasdinámicas socioeconómicas y religiosasactivas en el emplazamiento histórico deesta ciudad con anterioridad a su fundacióny urbanización. La leyenda, queintenta explicar el topónimo Ptolis de lacolina cercana a la ciudad histórica y ala vez trata de ofrecer una justificaciónetimológica del propio nombre de Mantinea,se analiza en combinación con losdatos topográficos, la epigrafía y el registrode cultos mantineos, dando piea una hipótesis sobre Antínoe y la naturalezade los cultos que protagonizan elproceso de urbanización de la comarca.________________________________________This paper aims to connect the legendof the heroine Antinoe, related byPausanias in the context of a refoundationof Mantinea, with the socioeconomican religious dynamics of thenew location area, previous to the cityfoundation as an urban centre. The legend,which seems to be an attempt toexplain the toponym Ptolis gave to thehill nearby the city, as well as to justifyetymologically the city name Mantinea,is here analysed in combination withtopographical data, epigraphic evidenceand some mantinean cults. As a result,an hypothesis is formulated concerningAntinoe and the nature of the cults implicatedin the urbanization process ofthe district.
