abstract = {This paper begins with a terminological comment on the concepts of
theme and myth. The author adopts a firm culturalist position to defend
that the term theme should be applied to commom archetypes (i.e., the
transformation of man), whereas myth should be reserved to refer to
their specific cultural manifestations (i. e., Daphne's metamorphosis). In
this sense, thématologie finds its research field in the meeting-point
between theme and myth. Secondly, the author maintains that any specific
study must be confined to a limited number of authors from different
linguistic areas but showing interactions between them. Finally, this
theoretical proposal is exemplified with an analysis of the labyrinth image
in the works of Kafka, Borges, and Butor.},
abstract = {Este artículo comienza con un comentario terminológico sobre los conceptos de “tópico” y “mito”. El autor toma una firme posición culturalista para defender que el término “tópico” debería ser aplicado a unos arquetipos comunes (por ejemplo, la trasformación del niño en hombre), mientras que “mito” debería reservarse para las alusiones de elementos culturales (por ejemplo, la metamorfosis de Dafne). En este sentido, la “tematología” encuentra su campo de estudio en el punto donde se encuentran el tópico y el mito. El autor también manifiesta que cualquier estudio específico debe limitarse a un número determinado de autores pertenecientes a diferentes áreas lingüísticas, pero mostrando interacciones entre ellas. Finalmente, esta propuesta teórica es ejemplificada mediante el análisis de la imagen laberíntica presente en los trabajos de Kafka, Borges, y Butor.},
