T1 Lost in the South: A Roman Copper Ingot from the area of Tarragona in the Baetica

AB A Roman copper ingot recovered from a wrecklocated in the border region of the provinces ofMálaga and Cádiz is presented in the followingcontribution. With a diameter of 45 to 53 cm and aweight of 75.4 kg it is one of the heavier specimens.Presumably the abbreviation of a name and theindication of its weight were incised near the rimof the bottom. Lead isotope and trace elementanalysis suggest a provenance not from mines insouthern Hispania, but from the polymetallic oresof the Catalunya region in northeastern Spain
AB Se presenta un lingote de cobre romano recuperadode un pecio ubicado en la región fronteriza de lasprovincias de Málaga y Cádiz. Con un diámetro de45 a 53 cm y un peso de 75.4 kg, es uno de losgalápagos de cobre más pesados que se conocen.La abreviatura de un nombre y su peso estánescritos cerca del borde del fondo. El análisis de losisótopos de plomo y los elementos traza sugierenuna procedencia no de minas del sur de Hispania,sino de la región de Cataluña en el noroeste de lapenínsula ibérica
