Se resalta que la mayor parte de ellas están en boca del narrador y que deben considerarse junto con los demás medios que este emplea (resúmenes, anticipaciones y valoraciones) para manifestar su omnisciencia y omnipresencia en la trama.This paper analyses the maxims (gnomai) in Chariton of Aphrodisias' Callirhoe as resources for characterisation. It also highlights that most of them are expressed by the narrator.
