These, reservoirs posses 81% of the total storage capacity of the Segura Basin and their catchments cover 36% of the total surface area of this basin. Therefore the results are highly representative for the area. These results indicate that every year more than 2 millions tons of sediment are deposited in these reservoirs occupying a volume higher than 1.64 hm3. In this way, the Segura Basin have lost, at least, 1 0.68% of its initiále storage capacity. The capacity loss in the reservoirs is a consecuence of the soil losses taking place in the Segura Basin that range from 7 85 to 697 t/km2.yearspaAtribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 3.0 Españahttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/es/Sediment yieldReservoir sedimentationBathymmetrícal surveysCapacity lossesSegura BasinDeterminación de la erosión en la Cuenca del Segura a partir de los sedimentos acumulados en sus embalsesDetermination of the erosion in the Segura Basin by considering the sediment accumulated in its reservoirsjournal articleopen access
