The purpose of this paper is to articulate a possible explanation of the plot and its connection with the teller by analysing the physician-narrator's discourse together with Chaucers additions to the original narrative, and the author's treatment of the concepts of authority, sovereignty and power in relation to the story-teller and the characters depicted in the story. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------La historia del médico en los Cuentos de Canterbury de Chaucer y sus conexiones con el narrador siempre han sido un enigma para los críticos literarios.
