El 8 de junio de 2023, un violento asalto en el parque Le Pâquier, Annecy, Francia, se saldó con varios niños y un adulto apuñalados y gravemente heridos. Este suceso desencadenó una intensa actividad en las redes sociales, con denuncias generalizadas, ira, rechazo y apoyo a las víctimas. Este estudio investiga el cambio en las narrativas de #welcomerefugees a «Welcome Refugees» tras el atentado, comparando términos como #welcomerefugees, «welcome refugees» y «refugees welcome» en Twitter. También explora la difusión de la teoría de la conspiración Eurabia en este contexto. Utilizando un enfoque de métodos mixtos, se recopilaron datos del 2 al 16 de junio y del 1 de enero de 2020 al 8 de junio de 2023, lo que dio como resultado 1.183.037 tuits. Los resultados preliminares indican una alta intensidad emocional en las narraciones, destacando la importancia de las metáforas, la ironía y el uso oportunista de términos tras el ataque. This event sparked intense activity on social networks, with widespread denouncement, anger, rejection, and support for the victims. This study investigates the shift in narratives from #welcomerefugees to "Welcome Refugees" following the attack, comparing terms like #welcomerefugees, "welcome refugees," and "refugees welcome" on Twitter. It also explores the dissemination of the Eurabia conspiracy theory in this context. Using a mixed-methods approach, data was collected from June 2-16, 2023, and January 1, 2020, to June 8, 2023, resulting in 1,183,037 tweets. Preliminary findings indicate high emotional intensity in narratives, highlighting the importance of metaphors, irony, and opportunistic use of terms post-attack.
