El constructor ubica la pieza en un determinado espacio o lugar otorgándole un sentido ideológico con una determinada intencionalidad. Este artículo tiene como objetivo el uso de los spolia en el ámbito musulmán almohade y en concreto la ubicación de pedestales romanos en la base de la Giralda de Sevilla. El método utilizado ha sido analizar las piezas y su colocación intencionada. El resultado o conclusión permite dos interpretaciones. La primera una intencionalidad política y religiosa de triunfo de la fe musulmana y del Imperio Almohade sobre los reinos cristianos de la Península Ibérica, y la segunda la constatación de que el nuevo imperio se apoya sobre raíces más antiguas adquiriendo el prestigio del pasado. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The reuse of pieces from the past in public or religious monuments sometimes transcends mere utility, acquiring a new meaning. This article aims to examine the use of spolia in the Almohad Muslim context, specifically the placement of Roman pedestals at the base of the Giralda in Seville. The method used has been to analyse the pieces and their intentional placement. The result or conclusion allows for two interpretations.
