The upper crust has been modelled in 2 1/2 D along three profiles. The gravity models suggest that the faults affecting both the Mesozoic-Cenozoic cover and the Hercynian basement are main/y high angle inverse fau/ts. Sorne of them bound permian bassins and they are basement faults, reactivated during the alpine deformations.
