These units record the submarine growth and the emersion of the Island. During these stages the volcanism is represented by an ultraalkaline and a strongly alkaline igneous series. The igneous activity was due to the presence of an anomalous zone in the sublithospheric mantle and influenced by the Cenozoic tectonic evolution of the northwestern part of the African platespaAtribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 3.0 Españahttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/es/Basal ComplexSubmarine growthEmersionFuerteventuraCanary IslandsLa serie volcánica submarina del Complejo Basal de Fuerteventura: crecimiento submarino y emersión de la IslaThe submarine volcanic succesion of the Basal Complex of Fuerteventura: submarine growth and emersion of the Islandjournal articleopen access
