The El Cardoso Antiform and the Majaelrayo Synform are structures which were generated during the third hercynian deformation phase (F) and are cross-cut by the Berzosa Fault, a normal accident with a dextral wrench component. The ductile shear zone that outcrops in the core the El Cardoso Antiform can be related to that which exists west of the Berzosa Fault and also to that which affects the overturned limb of the Hiendelaencina Anticline

Methodological aspects and results from the compositional-structural relationships of sulphosalts are summarized. These sulphosalts correspond to S-Bi-Ag and S-Sb-Ag systems presenting pseudoisometric characteristics. Attending to the paragenetic and crystallogenetic trends, they seem to be the result of an epithermal late metallogenic episode. Thermal sequences into these systems have not been detected

Lacustrine diatomite deposits in the Madrid Basin (Central Spain)

Two major intrusion events have been recognized in the area studied. The first one is represented by the granodioritic rocks of Los Pedroches Batholith while the second one corresponds to the intrusion of the granites of El Guijo Pluton. The two magmatic cycles show distinctive features, including differentiated dyke complexes, which are well exposed throughout the studied zone

The isotopic composition of modern calcite fills (onyx marble) in fractures and related caves is studied. Carbon and oxygen stable isotopes in this material are similar to the vadose speleothems (stalactites and stalagmites) in modern caves and to calcareous concretions in modern soils. This study can contribute to the recognition of analogous deposits in paleokarsts

An approach to the establishment of different early Upper Cretaceous Lithostratigraphic Units caracteristics in the diagraphies of a log drilled in the Iberian Ranges

(Sociedad Geológica de España, 1988) Colomer i Busquets, M.; Santanach, P.
The Calatayud-Daroca Basin is located in the Iberian Range. The SW margin of this Basin is the Jiloca fault. The evolution of the Basin during the Miocene, was conditioned by dextral slip on this fault. During the Pliocene the Jiloca fault had a normal slip, resulting in the Jiloca Basin formation

Evidence of a late-metamorphic extensional shear activity has been found along the central part of the Berzosa Shear Zone, as evidenced by «S-C» structures. This event could be correlated with a period of regional extension, found elsewhere in the Spanish Central System

The levels which contain carbonates are the essential ones both for litostratigraphic correlation and facies analysis in the Upper Proterozoic series of the Central Iberian zone. In this work, several carbonatic outcrops in the Alcudia valley are studied, some of them for the first time. All the outcrops are related forming the only one level with carbonates in that area (unidentified until now); its stratigraphic position in the «Upper Alcudian» is also advanced

During Late Cenomanian, an Atlantic transgression occurs as a result of the Iberian Plate tilting. Its southern limit is recognized in the Murcia-Albacete-Valencia area, with continental sediments, which are dividing the Iberian and Betic basins during that age

Evidence of faulting with displacements of several meters in a fluvial terrace 20 m above the present river level has been found in Polanco, near Santander. The site is located nead a diapir of Triassic clays and salts. This shows that there has been deformation in the area during late Quaternary times, perhaps only in relation to diapir emplacement
