El propósito de este estudio fue revisar sistemáticamente la evidencia disponible sobre la relación entre la IE y las medidas de IE. En PsychInfo, Cochrane, y PuntoQ se buscaron artículos relevantes en inglés y español, y se identificaron 104 estudios elegibles. Juntos, estos estudios proporcionan una fuerte evidencia de que la IE como rasgo y la IE como competencia se usan para medir la IE pero es la IE como rasgo la que se usa con más frecuencia. Las variables más estudiadas que se han relacionado con la IE han sido clínicas, de personalidad y emocionales. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Item type: Item , Las expresiones faciales emocionales como fuente de información en la toma de decisiones clínicas: una revisión sistemática(Universidad de Huelva, 2025) Gordillo León, Fernando; Mestas Hernández, Lilia; Gálvez García, GermánEl objetivo de esta revisión fue analizar la influencia de las expresiones faciales emocionales en la toma de decisiones clínicas, atendiendo tanto a los métodos empleados como a los principales resultados de la última década. Para ello, se aplicaron las directrices del protocolo PRISMA y se efectuó una búsqueda en las bases de datos Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), PsycINFO y MEDLINE, que permitió identificar 16 estudios relevantes. Los resultados muestran que el análisis de las expresiones faciales en el contexto clínico facilita una evaluación más precisa del estado emocional del paciente, repercuten en la calidad de las decisiones clínicas y potencian la empatía profesional. Además, se observa un creciente desarrollo de herramientas de apoyo basadas en inteligencia artificial, con aplicaciones prometedoras en telemedicina, geriatría, cuidados paliativos y atención neonatal. Futuras investigaciones deberán validar la eficacia de estas tecnologías en contextos clínicos reales y establecer marcos éticos sólidos que orienten su adecuada integración en la práctica sanitaria. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Item type: Item , The Psychosocial Work Environment and Stress Management across X, Y, Z and babyboom generations(Universidad de Huelva, 2025) Barata, Inês Isabel dos Santos Sanlez; Gaspar, TâniaHealthy work environments reduce risks and enhance employee performance and satisfaction, while stress can harm their health and engagement. Each generation has its own experiences and expectations that should be considered. This study explores the relationship between the psychosocial work environment and stress management according to generation, through a cross-sectional, comparative, and quantitative study. The study sample consisted of 4551 participants, 2189 belonging to Generation X, 1657 to Generation Y, 383 to Baby Boomers and 317 to Generation Z. Participants were recruited through convenience sampling and included volunteers aged 18 or older who work in Portugal. The results reveal the existence of differences in stress management across generations, however Baby Boomers tend to highlight similar factors to Generation X for work stress management, just as Generation Y and Generation Z tend to highlight similar factors. Leadership can influence worker stress, so they should consider their needs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Item type: Item , Positive Youth Development and Life Satisfaction: School-related Variables and Psychological Distress Mediating Effect Across Gender and School Level(Universidad de Huelva, 2025) Simões, Celeste; Branquinho, Cátia; Noronha, Catarina; Tomé, Gina; Gaspar, Tânia; Neto Rodrigues, Nuno; Gaspar de Matos, MargaridaIn recent years, the focus of youth health research has shifted from identifying problems to emphasizing positive youth development (PYD). This approach explores the strengths and resources young people possess. The present study examines how PYD attributes relate to life satisfaction in adolescents, considering the mediating effects of school-related factors ( school belonging, bullying, test anxiety, and relationship with teachers) and psychological distress and the moderating effect of gender and school level. Based on the literature, a path model was created and tested with a large group of adolescents. The results revealed that PYD attributes like confidence, connection, and competence are linked to school-related variables, which in turn are associated with psychological distress. Psychological distress, confidence, and connection are directly related to life satisfaction. While most associations showed no significant differences between gender and school level, there were some significant differences between these groups, namely the negative confidence-psychological distress association, which was higher for girls (lower and upper secondary), the positive confidence-life satisfaction and the negative connection-psychological distress associations that were higher for upper-secondary boys, and the negative confidence-bullying association, which was higher for lower secondary boys. These findings underscore the importance of promoting Positive Youth Development (PYD) in schools to enhance young people’s mental health and well-being, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that benefits the entire school community. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Item type: Item , Youth mental health: an insight into the reasons for young people's requests for psychological support through the lens of the ecological model(Universidad de Huelva, 2025) Gaspar de Matos, Margarida; Raimundo, Marta; Noronha, Catarina; Moraes, Bárbara; Domingos, Leonor; Cerqueira, Ana; Branquinho, Cátia; Botelho Guedes, Fábio; Tomé, Gina; Reis, Marta; Ramos, Melissa; Gaspar, TaniaDuring adolescence, young people substantially expand their life contexts, which on the one hand can strengthen their skills but on the other hand increases their vulnerabilities. In this sense, adolescents and young adults are a strategic target for mental health prevention and promotion programs, which must include not only young people, but their ecosystem as well. This study is part of device 1.2., Youth Health Offices of the Cuida-te + Program of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, I.P., which aims to promote the health and lifestyles of young people aged 12 to 25. The present study aims to identify the reasons for requesting a consultation from the perspective of an ecological model and evaluate the effect of the intervention in terms of psychological health. Therefore, the information collected in the first and last psychological consultation was used, including all consultations carried out by 21 psychologists in their professional internship over the course of 12 months. It was found that mental health problems, interpersonal difficulties related to interpersonal management and self-management were the young people’s most cited reasons. In terms of the effectiveness of the intervention carried out, it was found that the perception of quality of life (i.e. general, physical, psychological, social and environmental) and well-being of young people increased significantly after the intervention and the depressive and anxious symptoms, as well as stress levels, have been significantly reduced. These results are relevant for professionals and policy makers, reinforcing the importance of organizing effective and efficient support services targeted at specific populations and consolidating this type of services in terms of local and national responses. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
