Abstract

Este artículo aborda los episodios que en Palmer/n de Olivia y Prima/eón atañen a la figura del ave mágica y profética. Pretendemos demostrar que, en el caso de los libros de caballería, como PaAverín y Prima/eón, el camino más útil para comprender el significado profundo del ave profeta es, en lugar de una aplicación estricta del método intertextual, el análisis de la figura a la luz del simbolismo tradicional y, universal.______________________________This article addresses the episodes in Palmerín de Olivia and Prima/eón that involve the figure of the magical and prophetical bird. We seek to demonstrate that in the case of books of chivalry, as Palnmerín and Prima/eón are, the most profitable way of understanding the deep meaning of the prophet bird is, in lieu of a strict application of the intertextual method, an analysis of the figure in light of traditional and universal symbolism.
