Familias acogedoras de menores. Un análisis desde el modelo de red social

Abstract

En el artículo se presenta el estudio realizado con sietes familias acogedoras de niños/as y jóvenes, en las modalidades de familia extensa y educadora. La investigación la hemos realizado desde la perspectiva ecosistémica basándonos para el análisis en el modelo de red social. Mostramos los datos mediante el mapa de las redes sociales formales e informales en el que analizamos cuatro áreas (familia, amistades, comunidad y los sistemas de salud servicios sociales, y el sistema educativo y laboral) y los diferentes vínculos y apoyos sociales de la titular del acogimiento familiar. Consideramos de gran relevancia para el Trabajo Social el estudio de las redes sociales, porque nos aporta información de los vínculos sociales y los apoyos que tienen las personas/familias o la carencia de los mismos, lo que puede incidir en el bienestar social, el desarrollo humano y la salud mental. Al mismo tiempo, nos permiten crear, nuevas redes y poner en relación con las redes formales e informales en determinadas situaciones sociales (conflictos familiares, infancia vulnerable, soledad de las personas mayores, malos tratos, etc.).En los resultados se constatan las similitudes y diferencias y los modelos de red que predominan en las distintas modalidades de acogimiento familiar.La estrategia metodológica predominante para la realización de la investigación ha sido cualitativa y se ha caracterizado por ser un estudio exploratorio y descriptivo. Las herramientas y técnicas manejadas para recabar la información y registrarla en el mapa de red social han sido la entrevista en profundidad y la historia social individual-familiar

This article introduces the study performed with seven families who have brought up children and teenagers, in the modalities of extensive and educative families. The research has been carried out from the ecosystemic perspective, and my analysis is based on the social network model. I present the information by means of a map showing both formal and informal social networks, which are analyzed in four areas (family, friends, community, and health and social services, and educational and employment system) as much as the different links and social support of the qualified foster family. We consider the study of social networks to be of great importance for Social Work because it provides information of the social ties and lack of braces that people/the family may have which can have an impact on social welfare, human development and mental health. At the same time, it allows to create new networks and relate formal and informal networks in certain social situations (family conflicts, vulnerable children and the loneliness of the elderly, ill-treatment, etc.). The results obtained confirm the similarities and differences between these networks, and reflect those network models which prevail in the different modalities of foster care. My main methodological strategy has been the qualitative research and my study has used exploratory and descriptive techniques.
