Hogar, dulce hogar : una aproximación al fenómeno de la exclusión residencial

Abstract

Housing not only fulfills a function of basic shelter, but also social. Lacking housing or not having sufficient resources to maintain it puts the person in a situation that affects both it and the so¬cial network itself. This paper approaches the phenomenon of residential exclusion, explaining first the historical, social and political factors that have marked the housing market in Spain and the outbreak of the so-called real estate bubble. It also offers a conceptualization of the phenomenon and an approach to several groups prone to residential exclusion. The ultimate objective is to offer an overview of this aspect of exclusion and possible lines of action to tackle it.

La vivienda no solo cumple una función de acogimiento básico, sino también social. Care¬cer de vivienda o no tener recursos suficientes para mantenerla coloca a la persona en una situación límite y vulnerable, que le afecta tanto a ella su entorno como al propio entramado social. Este artículo se acerca al fenómeno de la exclusión residencial explicando en primer lugar los factores históricos, sociales y políticos que han marcado el mercado de la vivienda en España y el estallido de la llamada burbuja inmobiliaria. También se ofrece una conceptualización del fenómeno y una aproximación a varios colectivos proclives a la exclusión residencial. El objetivo último es ofrecer una panorámica de esta vertiente de la exclusión y posibles líneas de actuación para prevenirla.
