Abstract
under the Mithridatids. Dorilaus, Eupator's philos, was the high priest despite his greek
origin and that he was not a member of the royal family. The sanctuary must have belonged
formerly to the Cappadocian kingdom, and was after conquered by the Pontic kings. This
gives credibility to the account of Bell.Alex.66, and confirms the campaing of L. Licinius
Murena in the Second Mithridatic War as a reconquist of Cappadocian territory.
