Revisión de Recursos e Iniciativas de Apoyo a la Crianza Positiva en El Salvador

Abstract

La crianza positiva, se refiere al comportamiento y capacidad de amar, acoger, cuidar y orientar de los progenitores o cuidadores hacia los niños, niñas y adolescentes como sujetos activos de derechos. Dichos comportamientos y capacidades pueden ser promovidos y potenciados a través de apoyos sociales e intervenciones con las familias. El propósito de esta investigación fue identificar y analizar recursos e iniciativas de intervención para promover la crianza positiva en El Salvador. Para ello se revisaron sitios web de entidades reconocidas por el trabajo con infancia, adolescencia y familias en El Salvador y se contactó con los miembros de esas organizaciones. Seguidamente, se analizaron un grupo de indicadores con los 15 recursos identificados. Los resultados permitieron vislumbrar que el trabajo en crianza positiva en este contexto es bastante reciente y que los diferentes recursos e iniciativas han sido impulsadas principalmente por entidades privadas, y por lo general, de acceso universal y gratuito. No obstante, existen importantes brechas que reconocer y atender.

Positive parenting refers to the behavior and the ability of parents or caregivers to love, welcome, care for, and guide children and adolescents as active subjects of rights. These behaviors and capacities can be promoted and strengthened through social support and interventions with families. The purpose of this research was to identify and analyze resources and intervention initiatives to promote positive parenting in El Salvador. For this purpose, websites of entities recognized for their work with children, adolescents, and families in El Salvador were reviewed, and members of these organizations were contacted. Subsequently, a group of indicators was analyzed with the 15 identified resources. The results revealed that work in positive parenting in this context is quite recent, and the different resources and initiatives have been mainly driven by private entities, generally being universally accessible and free of charge. However, important gaps exist that need to be recognized and addressed.
