Abstract

A partir de la petición que elevaron a las Cortes unos esclavos gaditanos en 1811 se estudia la relación entre raza y Constitución en 1812, así como la cuestión jurídica del tráfico y la pervivencia de la esclavitud en la España metropolitana.
A study on race and slavery in the Spanish Constitution of 1812 based on unpublished sources, taking into account the question of slave traffic and the ‘peculiar institution’ in metropolitan Spain.
