Abstract

Este trabajo estudia la figura legendaria de Isidoro de Sevilla como profeta de la España cristiana en la Edad Media. Partiendo de la hagiografía e historiografía hispanas de los siglos IX al XIII, se analiza el proceso de creación del gran ciclo profético elaborado en torno a San Isidoro en el siglo XV, así como sus derivaciones.
In the article that follows, we study the legendary figure of Isidore of Seville as prophet of Christian Spain in the Middle Ages. Taking as point of departure Spanish hagiography and historiography from the 9th to the 1 3th centuries, we analyze the creation process of the great prophetic cycle originated with regard to St. Isidore during the 15th century and its derivations.
