Taller sobre TweetScraperR: una herramienta para la recolección de tweets en la era post-API

Abstract

Este video se corresponde con la sesión 1 (9 de octubre de 2024) del Taller sobre TweetScraperR: una herramienta para la recolección de tweets en la era post-API. En el taller se presentó TweetScraperR, una herramienta útil para la investigación digital en el contexto del actual acceso restringido a datos en redes sociales. La transformación de las metodologías de recolección de datos provocada por la "APIcalypse" ha condicionado la forma en que se realiza la extracción de información en plataformas como X/Twitter. TweetScraperR se basa en funciones de web scraping del paquete rvest de R que permiten superar las restricciones impuestas por la reducción del acceso a APIs. This video corresponds to session 1 (October 9, 2024) of the Workshop on TweetScraperR: a tool for collecting tweets in the post-API era. The workshop presented TweetScraperR, a useful tool for digital research in the context of today's restricted access to data in social networks. The transformation of data collection methodologies brought about by the "APIcalypse" has conditioned the way in which information extraction is performed on platforms such as X/Twitter. TweetScraperR is based on web scraping functions of R's rvest package that allow overcoming restrictions by reducing access to APIs. The workshop is given by Agustín Nieto, Researcher at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences - CONICET, Universidad Nacional Mar del Plata (Argentina).
