Abstract

Several trachytic and phonolitic, radial and conical dyke-swarms crop out on the La Gomera northern region. The first age data obtained situate the intrusion episodes coinciding in time with the extrusion of the Old Basalts. The earlier dykes show a radial pattern, centred in Tamargada. They have been dated in 8.0 Ma and 7.9 Ma. The conical swarm centred farther west, in Vallehermoso, has a slightly more recent age, between 7.5 Ma and 6.4 Ma. A third dyke-swarm is spatially associated with the conical structure and has likely a similar age
