Otro romanticismo inglés: la ventriloquia de Thomas Love Peacock y el eclecticismo crítico y temático de su obra paródica

Abstract

Este estudio pretende revalorizar y dar a conocer al autor T. L. Peacock y su obra dentro del contexto romántico, claves para recuperar una de las líneas imperantes del Romanticismo inglés: la parodia romántica. Se contribuye así al creciente interés en las últimas décadas por expandir el canon romántico, aceptando el Romanticismo como un movimiento en plural por la variedad de autores, temas y aspectos, entre los que debemos incluir a T. L. Peacock y su ecléctica obra paródica.

This study aims to reassess and to make Thomas Love Peacock and his work more well-known within the romantic context, as they are key in order to recover one of the prevailing lines of English Romanticism: romantic parody. It thus contributes to the growing interest in recent decades to expand the Romantic canon, accepting Romanticism as a movement in the plural because of the variety of authors, topics and aspects, among which we must include T. L. Peacock and his eclectic parodic work.
