Cambiar aquí y ahora, para poder cambiar el mundo mañana

Abstract

La situación de la educación en el mundo actual es un ejemplo más del amplio catálogo de intolerancias e injusticias que exhibe de forma impúdica nuestra condición humana. Mil millones de analfabetos, según rezan las estadísticas oficiales, a los que hay que añadir el analfabetismo funcional y un ciber-alfabetismo en alza, son cifras lacerantes que están dejando al descubierto una falta de voluntad política -económica y social- de acabar con esta lacra como con tantas otras. La autora manifiesta su creencia en el poder transformador que tiene la educación. Para muchos esta postura puede parecer una idealización romántica de lo educativo, casi adentrándose en el terreno de lo utópico, pero si la autora no estuviera en lo cierto, si la educación no pudiera dibujarnos horizontes más justos en el tiempo, ¿no sería angustioso?

The situation of education in the modern world is an another example of the extensive catalog of intolerances and injustices that our human condition exhibits in immodest way. One billion illiterates, according to official statistics, to which we must add illiteracy functional and cyber-illiteracy on the rise, they are crippling figures that are revealing a lack of political will - economic and social - to end this scourge as with so many others. The author expresses her belief in the transformative power of education. For many this position may seem like a romantic idealization of education, almost entering the field of what utopian, but if the author were not right, if education is not could we draw fairer horizons in time, it would not be distressing?
