MooC como estrategia de nivelación en la enseñanza universitaria: el caso de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia

Abstract
Los MooCs son una propuesta de cursos abiertos y en línea que se ha posicionado
con fuerza dentro de la oferta de educación superior y que han sido una fuerte apuesta institucional
en algunas Universidades, con el objetivo de mejorar incluso la experiencia universitaria de sus
propios matriculados. El presente estudio analiza la experiencia de los cursos de nivelación en
formato MooC creados en la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia para sus estudiantes desde su
implementación en 2013 hasta hoy. El análisis incluye una triple perspectiva, (1) análisis de las
motivaciones institucionales y evolución didáctica de los cursos, (2) análisis documental de los
MooCs de nivelación y (3) análisis de la participación de los estudiantes. Los resultados del estudio
nos indican que existe un perfil del alumnado que accede a estos MooC y nos muestra algunas
fortalezas y carencias que se concretan en propuestas de mejora para la institución que redunden
en un aumento de la participación en estos cursos
MooCs are a proposal of open online courses, which has strongly positioned itself within higher education and has been a strong institutional commitment in some Universities, with the objective of improving even the university experience of its own enrollees. The present descriptive study is focused on analyzing the leveling courses in MooC format, created by the Polytechnic University of Valencia for its students, since its implementation in 2013 until the present. The analysis includes a triple perspective, (1) an analysis of the institutional motivations and the didactic evolution of the courses, (2) a documental analysis of leveling MooC and (3) an analysis of the participation of enrolled students. The study results indicate the evidence of a student profile that access to these courses and show us some strengths and weaknesses which define a set of improvement proposals for the institution that, consequently, result in an increase in participation in these courses
