Violencia obstétrica: estudio bibliométrico en revistas hispanoamericanas

Abstract

Introducción. La violencia obstétrica se puede definir como las diferentes formas de maltrato realizado por los profesionales de la salud dentro de los procesos obstétricos-ginecológicos. La producción científica sobre la violencia obstétrica se encuentra en aumento actualmente, siendo de especial interés para la enfermería. Objetivo. Analizar la producción científica sobre violencia obstétrica en revistas científicas hispanoamericanas. Metodología. Estudio bibliométrico descriptivo retrospectivo sobre la producción científica sobre violencia obstétrica. La extracción de los documentos se llevó a cabo mediante la búsqueda en las bases de datos científicas seleccionadas con la utilización de los tesauros obtenidos en las páginas DECS y MESH. Resultados y discusión. Se seleccionaron 39 documentos sobre violencia obstétrica. Las categorías de análisis bibliométrico utilizadas fueron base de datos, año y revista de publicación, autoría, ámbito geográfico; además, se han analizado categorías metodológicas y de contenidos, principalmente las manifestaciones de la violencia obstétrica y las posibles soluciones ante esta. Conclusiones. La violencia obstétrica es un tema cada vez más presente en las revistas científicas hispanoamericanas. La cuantificación de sus manifestaciones y la búsqueda de soluciones para erradicarla es un objetivo común en todas las publicaciones proponiendo, entre otras alternativas, la formación como método más eficaz para acabar con este tipo de violencia.

INTRODUCTION. Obstetric violence can be defined as the different forms of mistreatment carried out by health professionals within the obstetric-gynecological processes. Scientific production on obstetric violence is currently on the rise, and it is very interesting to nursing. OBJECTIVE. To analyze the scientific production on obstetric violence in Hispanic American journals. METHODOLOGY. Retrospective descriptive bibliometric study on the scientific production on obstetric violence. The extraction of the documents was carried out by searching the selected scientific databases using the thesauri obtained from the DECS and MESH sites. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. Thirty-nine documents on obstetric violence were selected. The bibliometric analysis categories used were database, year of publication, authorship, geographic scope and journal; in addition, methodological and content categories were analyzed, mainly the manifestations of obstetric violence and possible solutions to it. CONCLUSIONS. Obstetric violence is a growing topic in Latin American scientific journals. The quantification of its manifestations and the search for solutions to eradicate it is a common objective in all the publications, proposing, among other alternatives, training as the most effective method to put an end to this type of violence.
