El maltrato animal es un problema que empieza a cobrar un especial nivel de atención. Cuando se habla de maltrato animal debe tenerse presente que se trata de conductas de abandono, negligencia en su cuidado, mutilación, torturas y la muerte. El común de todas estas conductas es la crueldad, traducida en dolor y sufrimiento inflingido a seres vivientes no humanos.
