Vers une écriture libre ou comment Jean Giono reconnaît dans la poésie de Juan Ramón Jiménez une écriture de la paix

Abstract

Cet article tente de démontrer comment Jean Giono, à l’occasion de la réalisation de l’adaptation cinématographique de Platero y yo, retrouva dans la poésie de Juan Ramón Jiménez un idéal pacifiste semblable au sien. Voyant tous deux la guerre comme un problème partant avant tout de l’éducation, ils se refusèrent cependant à mettre leur écriture au service d’une cause politique, pensant que l’association d’une théorie à l’art poétique était quelquechose de vulgaire. Préservant ainsi la liberté et l’indépendance de leur littérature, ils ne cesseront cependant de défendre la beauté et l’amour au nom de la paix mondiale.

Este artículo quiere demostrar cómo, cuando Jean Giono trabajó en la realización de la adaptación cinematográfica de Platero y yo, reconoció en la poesía de Juan Ramón Jiménez un ideal pacifista parecido al suyo. Ambos tenían la certeza que la educación desempeñaba un papel fundamental en la problemática de la guerra pero se negaron a poner su escritura al servicio de una causa política, creyendo que la asociación de una teoría al arte poético era algo vulgar. Preservando, de esta manera, libertad e independencia en su literatura, no dejaron sin embargo de luchar para la defensa de la belleza y del amor en nombre de la paz mundial.

This paper wants to demonstrate that when Jean Giono was working on the script of Platero y yo film, he recognised in Juan Ramón Jiménez’s poetry a pacifist ideal similar to his. Both had the assurance about the fundamental role of education in the war issue but they opposed to put their writing to the service of a political cause, believing that the relationship between a theory and poetical art was something banal. Thus, while preserving freedom and independence within their art, they had not stopped fighting for the defence of the beauty and the love in the name of the peace in the World.
