Acerca del concepto de representación política.

Abstract

En el presente texto se re fl exiona acerca del concepto de re- presentación política. Se plantean, en un primer momento, las di fi cul- tades que conlleva la tarea de elaborar una teoría de la representación, tanto desde el punto de vista jurídico como político. Posteriormente, se realiza un análisis del concepto en dos momentos históricos esenciales: la Revolución francesa y la de los Estados Unidos de América. Por últi- mo, se estudian las relaciones entre el concepto de representación y el parlamentarismo.In this work we re fl ect upon the concept of Political Represen- tation. First, the dif fi culties involved in the task of developing a Theory of Representation are posed, both from the legal and political point of views. Next, we carry out an analysis of this notion in two key historical moments: namely, the French and American Revolutions. As a closure, we study the relationships between the concepts of Representation and Parliamentary system.
