Complejidad y economía : distintas corrientes de pensamiento, diversas lecturas

Abstract

La emergencia de la física de los fenómenos complejos durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX trajo consigo transformaciones ontológicas, heurísticas y metodológicas que permeabilizaron todos los campos del saber, provocando la aparición de lo que se conoce como “ciencias de la complejidad”. Esta denominación pretende hacer referencia a un proceso y no a una realidad acabada y estática. No solo es el cúmulo de novedades conceptuales y metodológicas, sino que también es el modo en que se producen en cada disciplina concreta y la forma en que se manifiesta en los terrenos transdisciplinares comunes que van conformando esas evoluciones. Este artículo pretende dar cuenta de los rasgos más característicos de esta renovación, de la forma en que ha permeabilizado el pensamiento económico en las tres últimas décadas, así como de sus principales implicaciones en las características de la producción científica tanto en la economía convencional como en las corrientes heterodoxas.

The emergence in the field of physics of complex phenomena during the second half of the twentieth century brought about ontological, heuristic and methodological transformations through main fields of knowledge, leading to the emergence of what has been coined as sciences of complexity. This name referrers to a process and not to a determined finished and static reality. It consists not only of the accumulation of conceptual and methodological developments, but also of the way in which it is performed in each specific discipline and the way in which it manifests itself in the common transdisciplinary field shaped by these developments. This article aims at giving an account of the most characteristic features of this renewal, the way it has permeated the economic thinking in the last three decades as well as its main implications on the characteristics of the scientific production, both in conventional economics and heterodox economic thought.
