Estructura geológica en el borde oriental del Anticlinorio de Bilbao

Abstract

This paper provides new structural data from the Bilbao Anticlinorium, near Santurce (Basque Country). Lower Cretaceous rocks within this region show bed-parallel-thrusts, which are deformed during the development of the Bilbao Anticlinorium. Both, the thrusts and the fo/ds indicate a top-to-the-NE motion. This tectonic evolution is correlable with that showed by the Upper Cretaceous and Lower Tertiary rocks surrounding Bilbao

Este trabajo aporta nuevos datos estructurales del Anticlinorio de Bilbao, cerca de Santurce (País Vasco). Las rocas del bajo cretácico dentro de esta región muestran lechos paralelos a cabalgamientos, los cuales se deformaron durante el desarrollo del Anticlinorio de Bilbao. Tanto el cabalgamiento como los pliegues indican un movimiento hacia el NE. Esta evolución tectónica se puede relacionar con la mostrada en las rocas del alto Cretácico y el bajo Terciario que rodean Bilbao.
