Los museos de arte contemporáneo en el paisaje urbano de la ciudad de Cuenca

Abstract

El artículo se estructura en dos partes bien diferenciadas. En una primera se aborda el análisis del paisaje urbano, la evolución geológica, histórica y urbana de la ciudad antigua, así como las características tipológicas de sus edificaciones y distintas perspectivas del Casco Histórico. Y en una segunda parte se presentan tres edificios históricos infrautilizados que fueron objeto de una rehabilitación con cambio de uso para instalar en ellos diversas colecciones de arte contemporáneo: Museo de Arte Abstracto Español, Fundación Antonio Pérez y Espacio Torner, edificios que se han convertido en hitos del paisaje urbano y en iconos culturales al ser puntos de referencia para los flujos turísticos de los viajeros que visitan CuencaThe article is structured in two well differentiated parts. The first part deals with the analysis of the urban landscape, the geological, historical and urban evolution of the old city, as well as the typological characteristics of its buildings and different perspectives of the historic center. The second part presents three underutilized historical buildings that underwent a rehabilitation to change their use to install various collections of contemporary art in them: Museum of Spanish Abstract Art, the Antonio Pérez Foundation and the Torner Space. These buildings have become landmarks of the urban landscape and cultural icons as points of reference for tourist flows of travelers visiting Cuenca
