Abstract

Aggressiveness and frustration tolerance are two crucial aspects in adolescent development. Greater tolerance to frustration suggests more effective coping skills, which allows coping with stressful situations without resorting to violence or aggression. The objective was to determine the relationship between these variables. A non-experimental, correlational methodological design was used, with a sample of 460 students aged 12 to 17 years, 38.5% female and 61.5% male. The results show a low and very low level of aggressiveness with 51.3%, and an inverse correlation (rho= -0.658) between the variables. The ability to handle frustration constructively is fundamental in the prevention of aggressive behavior; therefore, it can be an effective strategy to promote healthy emotional development in adolescents.
