Abstract

José Torrubia can be considered one of the forerunners of the Scientific Speleology in Spain, not only bccaúse of his descriptions and theories about the speleothemes -taken from other authors as Lister, Kircher) Scheuchzer or Diego López de CogoHudo-, but.abové all for his implication and description of the explorations made at the Prison Cave (Pedraza de la Sierra, Segovia, 7 752), the one from Nuestra Señora de la Hoz (Cuadalajara, 7 753) and his own visit to the cave from Tikaz (Yucatán, Central America)
