Vernáculos educativos de Twitch: Twitchers educadores y el aprendizaje colaborativo

Abstract

El Trabajo de Fin de Máster parte del objetivo de analizar y describir el lenguaje vernáculo de la plataforma Twitch y sus implicaciones en el proceso de aprendizaje colaborativo. La metodología aplicada es cualitativa. En un primer momento, se realizó una revisión sistemática, para conocer la literatura científica existente en torno a Twitch, el lenguaje vernáculo de la plataforma y los estudios que reflejan su relación con el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Seguidamente se hizo un análisis de contenido del chat de dos streamer seleccionados, para el cual, se utilizaron las categorías obtenidas de la revisión sistemática. Y por último, se hizo un focus group con cinco participantes, para explorar las opiniones sobre Twitch. Los resultados de la revisión sistemática, no señalan específicamente, las características como vernáculos, pero tras analizar los 18 artículos, se obtienen características propias de la plataforma, las cuales se convierten en categorías, que se observan en el análisis de contenido y se reafirman con los comentarios de los participantes del focus group. Por lo tanto, las características que se identifican como parte del lenguaje vernáculo de Twitch, son: relación parasocial, comunidad virtual, chat, emote, bot, pivoting, twitch bit e intimidad digital. Además, se concluye que el intercambio de información a través del chat, el discurso producido por el streamer, y lo que proyecta en pantalla, contribuyen al aprendizaje colaborativo digital

The objective of this Master's thesis is to analyze and describe the vernacular language of the Twitch platform and its implications in the collaborative learning process. The methodology applied was qualitative. First, a systematic review was carried out in order to know the existing scientific literature on Twitch, the vernacular language of the platform and the studies that reflect its relationship with the teaching-learning process. Next, a content analysis of the chat of two selected streamers, was carried out using the categories obtained from the systematic review. Finally, a focus group was conducted with five participants to explore their opinions about Twitch. The results of the systematic review do not specifically point out the characteristics as vernaculars, but after analyzing the 18 articles, characteristics of the platform are obtained, which become categories, which are observed in the content analysis and reaffirmed with the comments of the focus group participants. Therefore, the characteristics identified as part of the vernacular language of Twitch are: parasocial relationship, virtual community, chat, emote, bot, pivoting, twitch bit and digital intimacy. Furthermore, it is concluded that the exchange of information through the chat, the discourse produced by the streamer, and what he/she projects on screen, contribute to digital collaborative learning.
