Abstract
Paterna del Campo in the 18th century was a village ecclesiastically assigned to the Archbishopric of Seville. Politically, the estate passed from the administration of the Brotherhood of the Blessed Souls and Lord San Onofre of Seville, to be under the jurisdiction of the II Marquess of Premio Real. The governmental stability maintained in the century previously mentioned would be complemented by a favourable socioeconomic and demographic viewpoint as well as, with a prominent religious mentality reinforced by the seismic conjuncture of 1755.
