Abstract
En este artículo analizaremos la situación
geopolítica de la provincia de Huelva y
la articulación del poder en su territorio,
centrándonos especialmente en el período
transcurrido entre la Edad Media y 1833,
cuando se confgura defnitivamente el actual
sistema de provincias, y en los procesos sociales
y políticos que condicionan la evolución
histórica del área periférica y fronteriza del
antiguo Reino de Sevilla y que hoy conforma la
provincia de Huelva
In this article, we analyze the geopoliticam situation of the province of Huelva and the articulation of power in this territory, focussing specially on the period between the Middle Ages and 1833. On this time-lapse, the current system of provinces was defnitively confgured and the social and political conditions that marked the historical evolution of the peripheral and border área of the former kingdom of Seville that today make up the province of Huelva
