Abstract

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We analyze the historical devices or imprese used by two knights whose lives spanned Italy and Spain in the second half of the 15th century and the first half of the 16th century. Both devices used the same «motto» but a different «pictura», and we propose an interpretation of the meaning of the devices, taking into account the life circumstances of their owners.
