Abstract
This article focuses on the social contract model that can be found in the different Andalusian Constitution projects, emphasising the gender variable. The starting point is the criticism that Proudhon and Pi y Margall make about Rousseau´s theories (1). Afterwards, the article presents the contrast between the intellectual references of both theories in the Andalusian project structure (2). Additionally, there is an analysis of women legal status and equality principle within the confederal republican movement and its ideology at the end of XIX century (3), which is linked to the treatment that those status and principle received in the Antequera Constitution (4)
