El consumo de cannabis en universitarios : factores de protección y riesgo

Abstract

Este estudio se encuadra en el Plan Andaluz Sobre Drogas y es el resultado de un convenio de colaboración entre la Junta de Andalucía, a través de la Consejería para la Igualdad y Bienestar Social, y la Universidad de Huelva. El objetivo del presente estudio es analizar el nivel de consumo de cannabis en estudiantes universitarios, los motivos de su consumo y su relación con hábitos de estudio, empleo del tiempo libre y consumo de otras sustancias. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo y transversal realizado en el curso 2007-2008 en la Universidad de Huelva con una muestra configurada por 1200 estudiantes. Se utilizó un cuestionario autoadministrado. Para el análisis de las relaciones entre variables se utilizó el test de chi-cuadrado de Pearson. Se concluye que el género, la asistencia a la Universidad y el consumo de drogas están relacionados con el consumo de cannabis.

This study is part of the Andalusian Plan on Drugs and is the result of a collaboration agreement between the Government of Andalusia, through the Ministry for Equality and Social Welfare, and the University of Huelva. The aim of this study is to analyze the level of cannabis use in university students, the reasons for its consumption and its relation to study habits, use of leisure and consumption of other substances. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in 2007- 2008 at the University of Huelva with a sample set for 1200 students. We used a self-administered questionnaire. For the analysis of relations between variables using the chi-square test of Pearson. We conclude that gender, attendance at the university and drug use are related to cannabis use.
