Creative tourism in small cities and rural areas: A Bibliographic

Abstract

The objective of this research work is to know, through a bibliometric and bibliographic analysis, the research that on Creative Tourism, in small cities and/or rural areas, has been carried out until now. The work methodology is developed through a descriptive-quantitative bibliometric analysis, applying different bibliometric indicators, providing information on the evolution of the research, identifying the researchers or groups working on this subject, the disciplines from which it is studied and the means, through which the results are disseminated. In addition, a bibliographic analysis of the content of the identified studies is carried out, to know the results achieved as well as the methodology used in the investigations. The bibliographic material to be analyzed is obtained using a methodology of tracking in the international databases Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus. The results, collected in a database, are made up of a small number of investigations, focused mostly on the study of relevant cases of success due to the effects of diversification of the economy, or the development of capacities that have enabled to create a different tourist potential and with identity to attract tourists in these areasEl objetivo de este trabajo de investigación es saber, mediante un análisis bibliométrico y bibliográfico, la investigación que el Creative Tourism (Turismo Creativo en español) ha llevado a cabo hasta ahora, en ciudades pequeñas y/o zonas rurales. El método de trabajo se desarrolla a través de un análisis bibliométrico descriptivo y cuantitativo, en el que se aplican diferentes indicadores bibliométricos, en el que se aporta información sobre la evolución de esta misma, se identifican los investigadores o grupos trabajando este tema, las disciplinas de las que se estudia y los medios, mediante los que los resultados se difunden. Además, se lleva a cabo un análisis bibliográfico del contenido de los estudios identificados, para saber los resultados conseguidos, además de la metodología usada en las investigaciones. El material bibliográfico que se va a analizar se obtiene con el empleo de un método de seguimiento en las bases de información internacionales Web of Science (WoS) – la Web de Ciencia en español – y Scopus. Los resultados, reunidos en una base, se forman de un pequeño número de investigaciones, centradas sobre todo en el estudio de casos relevantes del éxito debido a los efectos de la diversificación de la economía, o el desarrollo de las capacidades que han hecho posible la creación de un diferente potencial turístico y con la identidad para atraer turistas a estas áreas.
