Abstract
menonita.
With technological globalization, there is a process of cultural homogenization, and youth living in minority communities are no strangers to this reality. The Web offers the possibility of coexisting in a global environment while strengthening local ideas, a phenomenon known as glocalization. This research is based on the case of the YouTube channel 'Menonita Mexicana', promoted by Marcela Enns, a young woman originally from the Mennonite community in northwestern Mexico. It addresses one of the contradictions of the 21st century, the use of technological tools to strengthen the identity of a highly traditional community that has been characterized by refusing to adopt the advances of technology. The objective is to learn about the implications of this tool for the youth and the potential it has for use in other similar communities. The main content of the channel is focused on traditional recipes and stories of uses and customs, with the explicit aim to disprove myths regarding Mennonites. The relevance of the cannel is derived from its contents rather than the audiovisual resources which are basic, and it mainly serves as a loudspeaker for Mennonite culture.
