Una muestra de lexicografía dialectal onubense: el Diccionario de palabras de andar por casa (2023), de Manuel Garrido Palacios

Abstract

Introducción: Este estudio supone un primer acercamiento a la obra de Manuel Garrido Palacios el Diccionario de palabras de andar por casa, que aborda el léxico de la provincia de Huelva. El texto analizado es de la 4.ª ed. (Niebla, 2023), que corrige y amplía una obra que se suma a anteriores aportaciones del autor al estudio de la cultura popular. Metodología: Se adscribe este análisis al concepto de crítica lexicográfica: la descripción de macroestructura y microestructura permitirán observar los principios fundamentales de la técnica lexicográfica. Resultados: Se trata de una obra amplísima, tanto en macroestructura como en microestructura, que invita a aproximarse a una realidad lingüística desde un carácter no estrictamente científico en cuanto a su metodología, pero que revela una profunda atención a lengua y cultura. Conclusiones: A medio camino entre lo lingüístico y lo etnográfico, se trata de un volumen fundamental en la historia lexicográfica de Huelva

Introduction: This study is a first approach to the work of Manuel Garrido Palacios Diccionario de palabras de andar por casa, which deals with the lexicon of the province of Huelva. The text analyzed is from the 4th edition (Niebla, 2023), which corrects and expands a work that adds to the author’s previous contributions to the study of popular culture. Methodology: This analysis is ascribed to the concept of dictionary criticism: the description of macrostructure and microstructure will make it possible to observe the fundamental principles of the lexicographic technique. Results: It is a very extensive work, both in macrostructure and microstructure, which invites to approach a linguistic reality from a not strictly scientific character as for its methodology, but which reveals a deep attention to language and culture. Conclusions: Halfway between linguistic and ethnographic, this is a fundamental volume in the lexicographical history of Huelva
