La Mujer en la Institución Libre de Enseñanza

Abstract

La Institución Libre de Enseñanza fue todo un movimiento pedagógico y cultural que cambió por completo el panorama de la educación española del siglo XIX y XX, y precisamente el papel de la mujer fue el que experimentó una transformación significativa durante el desarrollo y trascurso del mismo. A lo largo de este Trabajo Fin de Máster se puede apreciar como España pasó de contemplar un sistema educativo desolador y destinado al fracaso, a alcanzar la cúspide del intelectualismo, y en gran parte fue gracias al acceso de la mujer a la educación y al reconocimiento de los derechos de la misma. Para ello, se ha hecho un recopilatorio de las instituciones que abrieron sus puertas a las mujeres, las educaron y les ofrecieron trabajo. Al igual que se han mencionado aquellas relevantes figuras femeninas que dejaron huella en la cultura española, gracias a su relación con la Institución Libre de Enseñanza.

The Free Institution for Education was a pedagogical and cultural movement that completely changed the landscape of Spanish education in the 19th and 20th centuries, and it was precisely the role of women that underwent a significant transformation during its development and course. Throughout this Master's Thesis, it can be seen how Spain went from contemplating a desolate educational system destined to failure to reaching the pinnacle of intellectualism, and this was largely thanks to women's access to education and the recognition of their rights. To this end, a compilation has been made of the institutions that opened their doors to women, educated them and offered them work. Mention has also been made of the relevant female figures who left their mark on Spanish culture, thanks to their relationship with the Free Institution for Education.
