Estructuras alpinas internas al Paleozoico del Manto de Gavarnie, Pirineo Central

Abstract

In the paleozoic materials of the Iower part of the Gavarnie Nappe «retronormal» faults appear, which are compatible with the tangencial compressives stresses and transalation movement of the nappe to the south. In the upper part of the nappe (Cretaceous and Paleogenous materials) a tectonic stack with increasing thrusting from bottom to top, is produced. Both behaviours can be explained by the ratio between tangencial comprensive stress and lithological load

Aparecen fallas «retronormales» en los materiales paleozoicos de la parte baja del Manto de Gavarnie, las cuales son compatibles con los esfuerzos tangenciales de compresión y movimiento del manto hacia el sur. En la parte alta del manto (materiales cretáceos y paleogénicos) se produce un apilamiento tectónico con cabalgamiento creciente de abajo hacia arriba. Ambos comportamientos se pueden explicar con la proporción entre la tensión compresiva tangencial y la carga litológica.
