Abstract
Pleurodira fue un clado de quelonios abundante y diverso en el Eoceno
de Europa. El representante mejor conocido es Neochelys. A este género se
han asignado varias especies. Una de las peor conocidas es la alemana
Neochelys franzeni. El estudio de un ejemplar inédito, que es aquí atribuido
a este taxón y que corresponde a un individuo juvenil, aporta nuevos datos
tanto sobre esa especie como sobre la ontogenia y la variabilidad
intraespecífica e interespecífica del género
Pleurodira was an abundant and diverse clade of turtles in the Eocene of Europe. The best known representative is Neochelys. Several species have been assigned to it. One of the poorly-known species is the German Neochelys franzeni. The study of an unpublished specimen, which is attributed here to this taxon, and identified as a juvenile individual, sheds new light on both the knowledge about this species and on the ontogeny and the intraspecific and interspecific variability of the genus
