Arqueología en Portus, el muelle este-oeste: una propuesta de investigación futura

Abstract

El desarrollo del proyecto DEATLANTIR, en su ámbito de acción italiana, ha permitido el inicio y desarrollo de estudios en el área de Portus Augusti, inserto en el Parque Arqueológico de Ostia Antica. En este contexto, como objeto de estudio particular, se ha desarrollado un proyecto específico, iniciado en 2017 y actualmente en vigor, sobre uno de los muelles internos del puerto. Éste, denominado por la historiografía como della lanterna o linterna, presenta un desarrollo esteoeste y una amplia diacronía, con un cierto debate relativo a la fecha de su construcción al que ahora vienen a aportar nuestras investigaciones, hasta su abandono en el s. VI. Las consideraciones finales a su estudio, con un nutrido conjunto de datos y resultados, han posibilitado un destacado conocimiento a día de hoy, que permite el planteamiento de una nueva fase proyectual con una especial atención en la dinámica de Portus en su tránsito del Alto Imperio al periodo Tardo Antiguo.The development of the DEATLANTIR project, in its Italian research scope, has allowed the initiation and development of studies in the archaeological site of Portus Augusti, in the Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica. In this context, as an object of particular study, a specific project has been developed, starting in 2017 and currently ongoing, on one of the internal docks of the port. This, known in historiography as “della lanterna”, presents an east-west development and a wide diachrony, with a certain debate regarding the date of its construction to which our research now contributes, and its abandonment in the 6th century. The final considerations for its study, with a large set of data and results, have enabled an outstanding knowledge to date, which allows the approach of a new project phase with special attention to the dynamics of Portus in its transition from the High Empire to Late Antiquity.
