Abstract
After The Council of Trent and, following Pío V Roman Cathecism for parish priest's recommendations, an Extremaduran priest writes, at the end of the XVI century, a new book of «Warnings». This time it is for married couples. His objective: to indoctrinate a population ignorant about their conjugal duties and who do not know the value of the Sacrament. Joan Estevan is part of the cultural production of those theologists and moralists who disseminated the Counter-Reformation. But this practical knowledge, as a priest and as a confessor, endorses him in the composition of his advicements. Sometimes strict, contradictory and warmer than other that preceded him or followed him, his positive vision of marriage connects him with a friendly course of action whith this estate.
