Cerebro y Comportamiento: una Revisión

Abstract

El aporte de múltiples disciplinas científicas permite conocer aspectos sorprendentes de la relación entre el cerebro y sus funciones. La tecnología actual y la convergencia de estas disciplinas constituyen aspectos esenciales para comprender los complejos mecanismos cerebrales que subyacen a la conducta. En este trabajo se hará una descripción de aquellas disciplinas científicas cuyos estudios ayudan a entender los sustratos biológicos del comportamiento normal y alterado. Se describirán varias patologías o alteraciones neuropsicológicas y, además, se revisarán algunos de los mecanismos neurobiológicos conocidos que gobiernan nuestras funciones cerebrales. Todo ello nos permite concluir que el comportamiento y las funciones cerebrales dependen de complejos mecanismos biológicos, muchos de los cuales permanecen aún por dilucidar.

The contribution of many scientific disciplines allows us to know surprising aspects of the relationship between the brain and its functions. Current technology and the convergence of these disciplines are essential to understand the complex brain mechanisms underlying behavior. In this paper will be described some scientific disciplines whose studies help to understand the biological substrates of normal and altered behavior. We will describe some pathologies or neuropsychological disorders and, in addition, we will review some of the known neurobiological mechanisms that control our brain functions. This allows us to conclude that the behavior and brain functions depend on complex biological mechanisms, many of which are still to be elucidated.
